During the Second World War numerous postcards and Poland-related stationery pieces had been published by various Polish institutions and organizations. Some were also published by foreign organizations sympathetic to the Polish cause and war effort, or by large Allied military formations to which Polish military units were assigned.
The postcards touch a variety of themes - patriotism, hope for coming home soon, Free Poland, Victory over Nazi Germany, friendship between the Allies, Allied war effort, religion, charity, etc. Many give a picture of soldier's daily activities - not only on the battlefield, but depicting also his social life within the surrounding community.
